Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?
Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and tissues that support your bladder, uterus, rectum, and core. These muscles play a big role in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. Physical therapy helps address pain, leakage, core weakness, and other pelvic health concerns through gentle, evidence-based care.
When Should I Start Pelvic PT Postpartum?
You can begin whenever you feel ready! Many patients start around 6 weeks postpartum, after seeing their healthcare provider and being cleared for regular activities. However, we’re also here for immediate postpartum support—helping with comfort, positioning, posture, and breathing strategies right from the start.
Where Are You Located?
We offer PT out of our office space in South Natick. We also provide mobile physical therapy for those looking for the convenience of PT at home. We primarily work in and around the MetroWest area serving the following towns; Sudbury, Wayland, Concord, Acton, Framingham, Natick, Marlborough, Hudson and Wellesley.
What to Expect?
The first session, the initial evaluation, will be focused on learning more about what is bringing you to PT and what your goals are. It will also include measurements related to your injury. We will then begin exercises and will discuss a plan for what to expect at future appointments.
How Frequent Are Appointments?
This varies based on your individual treatment plan. Most people will benefit from appointments 1-2 times per week. At the end of your first appointment, we will discuss how often visits are recommended.
